Privacy Statement

In accordance with my shaky understanding of EU directives, it's necessary for us to provide you with details of our use of cookies and any other data.

At theOneliner.com, we ask for no personal data to access any of the site so far. We make no attempt to identify you through fancy reverse DNS lookups. Any emails sent to our staff are treated in the strictest confidence and your email address will never be made available to any third party. We will never send any unsolicited emails to anyone, under pain of death.

We don't use cookies to identify any visitors. Historically, a php session was opened on your machine, which is something very similar to a cookie except it will be destroyed and deleted by your browser automatically on shutting it down. This session had contained a grand total of one digit, purely there to identify you to our hit counter so that you are only counted once per visit to our site. My current understanding of the applicable laws seem to allow this without any complex opt-in policies, however this application has since been made redundant and no longer features on our site at the time of writing.

Our forums require an email confirmation for signup purposes to limit any random fools trolling for a flame war; your email address will never be divulged to any third party and we will not contact you through this address unless it is your express wish that we do so.

Rest assured that theOneliner.com will treat your privacy with the respect it deserves. In this respect at least we believe in the old "Do unto others" thing. We wouldn't like to be signed up for various spam, so we won't sign you up for various spam. Simple, really.
